Chocolate Nut Butter Dipped Strawberries (3 Ingredients)

Strawberry dipped in Dark Cocoa + Sea Salt nut butter over the open jar

To make chocolate nut butter dipped strawberries, warm 1/2 cup of Dark Cocoa + Sea Salt macadamia & walnut butter for 15 to 20 seconds, dip 12 dry strawberries halfway, sprinkle with flaky salt and chill for 20 minutes. Three ingredients, about 30 minutes, no tempering and no double boiler.

Why this works

Melted chocolate needs tempering or it sets dull and streaky. Our nut butter skips all that: a quick warm makes it dippable, and a short chill firms it back into a thick, fudgy coat that stays put. The 70% dark chocolate and sea salt are already in the jar, so the berries do the rest.

Quick facts

  • Makes 12 strawberries (serves 3 to 4)
  • Prep 10 minutes, chill 20 minutes
  • 3 ingredients
  • Contains tree nuts (macadamia, walnut)

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Wash the strawberries and dry them completely with paper towels. Any water left on the skin keeps the coating from sticking.
  2. Line a plate or small sheet pan with parchment.
  3. Spoon the nut butter into a small microwave-safe bowl. Warm for 15 seconds, stir, then add 5 more seconds if needed. You want it loose enough to coat a spoon, not runny.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem, dip it halfway in, twist, and let the extra drip back into the bowl.
  5. Set it on the parchment and sprinkle with a pinch of flaky salt (and walnuts, if using) right away, while the coating is soft.
  6. Refrigerate for 20 minutes, until the coating is firm to the touch.

Tips and variations

  • Don't overheat. Short bursts only. Hot nut butter turns thin and slides off the fruit.
  • Thicker coat: chill the dipped berries for 5 minutes, then dip again.
  • Swap the fruit: banana coins, apple slices, dried apricots and pretzel rods all work.
  • Make it a board: skip dipping and serve the warm nut butter in a bowl with fruit around it.

FAQ

How long do chocolate nut butter strawberries last?

Eat them the same day for the best texture. They hold in the fridge for up to 24 hours, but the berries start to weep after that.

Will the coating set hard like a chocolate shell?

No. It sets firm and fudgy, more like a truffle than a snap. That's the point: it won't crack and fall off when you bite.

Can I make these without a microwave?

Yes. Set the bowl over a pan of warm (not boiling) water for 1 to 2 minutes and stir until it loosens.
